Job summary

Fixed term for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave (starting ideally in April/May), this is an exciting opportunity to join a team of twelve Careers Consultants within Imperial College Business School Careers Service. This full-time position provides one-to-one student support as well as delivering small seminars and large lecture-theatre presentations to MSc and full-time MBA students.
Duties and responsibilities

Our students aspire to secure positions in top-tier global employers. It is the role of the Careers Consultant to support them to do this by helping them develop career goals and assisting them in all aspects of their job search – from developing their Personal Brand through to CVs, interview technique and negotiating offers.

With a focus on providing targeted support in sectors and industries that our students aim to work in, this roles will be part of the Finance Sector team. You will support students who are applying for roles in the Finance Sector by providing insights into recruitment trends and processes, typical pathways and labour market information within the sector. You will also contribute to building the team’s knowledge in this area by updating resources and materials.
Essential requirements

You will be experienced in and passionate about career development. You will either have experience in a University or Business School setting in providing careers advice, or significant recruitment experience, preferably in the graduate and/or experienced hire area.

Please note, the postholder will be required to work some evenings and possibly the occasional Saturday.
