Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to work in the Department’s Central Office. This is a front of house position where you will use your excellent communication skills to liaise with staff and students within the Department of Mathematics and throughout the College.

This is a temporary Maternity cover contract (Anticipated for 12 months).

Duties and responsibilities
The main responsibilities will involve organising events, assisting with departmental recruitment, financial processing and monitoring of relevant budgets. The post holder will provide administrative support for the Pure Mathematics section in addition to liaising with HR contacts with preparing job descriptions, advert text and pre-employment checks in line with the eRecruitment system. The post holder will also be expected to deal with general enquiries, support examinations, edit the departmental website and assist with the administration process and space allocation for the Academic Visitors

Essential requirements
•You will be expected to have administrative experience, preferably in a Higher Education environment
•Good level of education, minimum of A ‘Level or equivalent experience
•Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and proven ability to work to a high standard of accuracy.
• Proven knowledge of a range of computer-based procedures and software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
•Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion
•Excellent organisational skills, good time management and ability to work to deadlines
