Salary:        £32,223 – £34,062 (Plus Market Supplement)



Essex County Fire & Rescue have a vacancyfor a hands on Project Manager who can use a variety of Business Analysis,Project Management and Implementation skills to facilitate the identificationand selection and use of new systems within Essex County Fire & RescueService.  The role is one of four in theProjects and Change Team.


The Service is part way through a significantprogramme of change to the ICT systems used by the Service as it delivers vitalemergency response and works to make sure Essexis as safe as possible.


The size of the Fire Service, coupled with afantastic “can do” approach across the organisation has driven the need forindividuals who can take ownership across the full lifecycle of a project fromthe initial engagement with the project executive to produce the project briefall, the way through to working with the senior user to measure the benefitsrealised as a result of the project.  You will have experience of managing a wide and varied range of projectsto match the diverse ICT requirements of the Service, calling on andcoordinating resources as and when needed. You will be an enabling part of the team that delivers the changes andthen hands the systems into Service Support for transition to business as usualusing the ITIL framework. 


We would expect you to have experience ofmanaging projects with duration of between three months and one year.  You must be Prince 2 Practitioner qualifiedand we expect you to have the practical experience of using this framework asappropriate to enable successful delivery of projects.  The ITIL Foundation qualification would be adistinct advantage.

The ICT team are based at the ServiceHeadquarters which has excellent facilities and is conveniently located on theA12 near Kelvedon. 


This role is full time,37 hours per week, 08.30 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday, 08.30 – 16.30 Friday.
