Learning Developer (Teaching Fellow)

Job Description

As a Learning Developer you will become a valued member of a small, collegiate and highly successful learning and teaching team.

A significant proportion of your time will be spent forging collaborative partnerships with colleagues in academic schools within one of our three Faculties. As part of this you will be regularly delivering extended teaching, providing ample opportunity to develop and enhance your own practice.

Additionally, as part of a central service, you will deliver one-to-one coaching to students under the Write Direction name, contribute to a series of free-standing academic skills-based workshops, and create e-learning resources.

You will take an active role in the University, communicating across a wide range of audiences and attending Faculty and School Learning and Teaching committees.

The work requires a highly student and staff-focused approach and an ability to work as part of team. The successful applicant will be expected to liaise effectively across the academic, professional and administrative sectors of the University to ensure effective execution of the role and will be required to engage with specific development opportunities to strengthen and develop teaching knowledge, skills and technical competencies.

Educated to degree level with a teaching qualification, organisational skills, team working, initiative and leadership capabilities should feature strongly in previous experience.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
