Job Description

RAF Medics provide essential medical support to personnel, responding to medical emergencies and providing airfield crash cover on stations in the UK, whilst on operations and also on exercises. They can also train as paramedics, providing a full range of pre-hospital emergency care in military environments

Typical Responsibilities:

Duty RAF Medics provide airfield medical crash cover and pre-hospital emergency care.
Manage receipt and storage of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals in medical stores, issuing of medications.
Maintain the electronic and paper medical records, monitoring the occupational health of Defence personnel.

Similar civilian roles include Medical laboratory assistant or Medical administrator.

27 days per year for 12 years minimum. Each year includes a 15 day block for general RAF training, which is taken over a two week period, and 12 days for additional/trade training, or training exercises.

The possibility of being deployed to a UK or overseas base for up to 6 months after the first year.
