Description:Welcome to the Village, a vital, important event focusing on Black Men's Mental Health!
Join us for an empowering and uplifting event promoting positive mental well-being among men from the African-Caribbean Diaspora. This event is a safe space where we, as Black men, can come together to share our experiences, connect with one other as well as learn about the tools and resources that can help us prioritize our mental health.
By attending this event, you'll join an open, caring, supportive community of men that have come together to discuss the unique challenges that Black Men of the African-Caribbean Diaspora face daily. By the end of the session, you'll leave with tools and resources to enhance your mental and emotional well-being to empower you in your journey towards healing.
Our sessions are uniquely designed to cater to the needs of men who may have reservations about seeking mental health support. We understand the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment where participants can feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment. Throughout this inspirational event, we hope to empower and uplift black men by raising awareness of the importance of mental wellness.
Throughout the evening, we will have a series of thought-provoking discussions including:
- Stigmas and barriers associated with black mental health and how we internalise them,
- Discussions on masculinity, what it means to be a man and our mindsets,
- A deep delve into our minds to reflect, promote healing and increase positive mental health,
- Creating support systems within the Black community using peer-to-peer development to support self-development, reduce negative emotions and increase accountability,
This event is built from the ground up for black men by black men with our issues at the centre! This space is open to all black men regardless of age, background, ethnicity, religion, identity (Cisgender, Transgender and Non-Binary welcome) or experience with therapy as we understand men do not have a homogenous experience and all need support.
Whilst the space is focused on the African-Caribbean and Black British Experience, we welcome non-black men who want to learn more about black men's mental health, have African-Caribbean family members or themselves struggle with mental health.
Please join us at the start of a series of insightful, potent and empowering conversations that we hope will help break down the many barriers that we encounter daily. Whether you are facing mental health challenges, supporting a loved one, or simply wanting to increase your understanding of Black Men's mental health, this transformative event is for you.
Together we will build a community of trust and understanding as we journey together towards better mental health creating a stronger and more resilient community for black men. Come join us on this journey towards better mental health and well-being!
