Assistant for KUMEC Phase 3

Job Description

The Division of Health & Social Care Research are seeking to appoint an Assistant for KUMEC Phase 3.

The main purpose of this role is to assist the KUMEC Phase 3 Lead in delivering KUMEC Phase 3. The responsibilities include assisting in the briefing and support for Phase 3 community teachers and students and visits to practices that are interested and involved in our teaching. This post will also be expected to take a lead in overseeing and executing the evaluation of the KUMEC Phase 3 programme in all aspects.
The post holder will also be assisting the KUMEC Phase 3 Lead in developing the establishment of an intercalated BSc in General Practice. The post holder will assist with the design of the iBSc in General Practice. Should the iBSc project be successful then then the post will have potential for ongoing extension. The exact nature of the post’s responsibility in delivering the iBSc will be defined once delivery is planned.

The salary will be paid on the GP educator pay scale GP00 (currently £83,451), pro rata for 0.4 FTE.

This post will be based on part time – 40% full time equivalent. (Two days per week, one of which should be a Wednesday) – fixed term contract until 1 Sept 2019

The successful candidate will have an up-to-date GMC license to practice medicine and have experience of working as a GP.

The selection process will include a panel interview and candidates will be asked to deliver a 10 minute micro-teach session, more details provided when invited for interview.
