The Management Department at Imperial College Business School is seeking qualified applicants (PhD in a related field) for a senior position (Associate or Full Professor) in the areas of Health Operations Research/ Analytics/ Modelling/ Operations Management. The candidate should demonstrate capability for high-quality innovative research in their area and ability to publish in leading journals. The appointment is aimed at establishing a world-class research program to support and create synergies with ongoing research at the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation and in the Operations Management Group, and the position is expected to be a complement to both groups.

Located in the heart of London, Imperial College Business School offers an attractive research environment and teaching loads with competitive salaries. The recently established Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation has a diversified research portfolio and a strong policy orientation. Research at the centre focuses on addressing global public health challenges such as climate change and pollution, obesity and nutrition, chronic non-communicable diseases; on incentives to influence the behaviours of health care providers, patients and consumers; on the role of competition and management in health care; and on innovation in health care and health policy. The Operations Management Group is very research-oriented and has interests in analysing and improving Service, Logistics and Manufacturing operations. Research interests span both methodological as well as applied questions in a wide variety of industries

Imperial College offers unique opportunities for multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research, especially in the health area, with its world-class Faculty of Medicine and School of Public Health, its Data Science Institute, Institute for Global Health Innovation, Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment, and its leading faculties of Natural Sciences and Engineering. The Business School has strong links with other Faculties and several ongoing joint research programmes.
Duties and responsibilities

The post will be situated in the Management Department. The successful applicant will contribute to the growth of the department’s teaching programme and develop their own research interests within the ambitions of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation, and of the Operations Management group. They will be highly motivated, demonstrating excellent teaching and research skills.
Essential requirements

An applicant for appointment as a Full Professor should have a strong international reputation for their research in their specialised field.

An applicant for appointment as an Associate Professor should have a strong track record of research and publication in leading international journals.
