Job Description

Historic England is the public body that champions and protects England`s historic environment – from the prehistoric to the post-war. We are looking for two enthusiastic Business Officers to provide support to colleagues within our Planning Group.

As the initial point of contact for managing external enquiries, you will be committed to high standards of customer service. Excellent oral and written communication skills will underpin the internal assessment of, and external response to, requests for Historic England advice and investment. Proficient and adaptable in the use of Information Systems, you will monitor and manage performance and will ensure the availability of reliable information within the local office. A flexible approach to teamwork will be fundamental in providing effective administrative support across all service areas.

You will operate a range of business processes designed to meet the needs and expectations of customers, both internal and external to the Planning Group. The role will include overseeing the effective processing of planning advice casework, as well as taking responsibility for a portfolio of grant-aided projects.

Please note that there are two posts available; one fixed term post running until 31 March 2019 and one fixed term (maternity cover) post of up to 12 months.
