We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join a well-established group of psychological practitioners integrated into the recently re-designed Older Peoples pathway in Leeds. Neuro assessments are highly valued by the memory assessment service, with excellent MDT forums. The successful applicant will lead the development of PSI and interventions to manage the challenges of dementia to individuals, families and carers delivered by the newly established CMHTs.
Psychology and psychotherapy staff at all grades work in the different teams to support staff develop psychologically informed care plans, attend formulation meetings, safety huddles, offer consultation, and deliver interventions and training. The post holder will line manage some psychology staff. All the staff teach on the D.Clin psych course and we provide up to 6 placements a year, often by request. The region has an excellent Post Qualification Training programme. The Trust has won awards and is committed to research.
The Trust promotes multidisciplinary leadership using Effective Teams framework and there are opportunities to influence and shape psychologically informed practice across the pathway in concert with other disciplines. The post holder is supported by other Consultants within OPS and the Trust including a professional lead. The consultants are in turn supported by the Strategic Lead for the Psychological Professions. We seek an individual with an appetite to learn, can demonstrate good governance and who has an enthusiasm for working with older people with complex needs.
