Job Description

The Department of Paediatric Critical Care at Barts and The London Children’s Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, is seeking to appoint a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist (10 PAs). This is a substantive appointment and the successful candidate will join a team of 6 existing Paediatric Intensivists, to make seven consultants.

This post is based at Barts and the London Children’s Hospital located within the recently rebuilt Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, London. The development of the Paediatric Critical Care service has been a Trust priority in line with the agreement reached with the local Paediatric Intensive Care Consortium. The Paediatric Critical Care unit opened in 2007 and is steadily expanding with approx. 420 admissions per year. The equipment and facilities on the PICU allow the development of new treatments and management strategies for critically ill children, and the unit has recently gained approval to expand to 10 beds, from the current 6. It is a busy and exciting time to join the team.
