Deputy Director for Counter Fraud

Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for you to act as the senior officer accountable for counter fraud in HM Land Registry. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring counter-fraud expertise to bear on HMLR’s digitisation process and the way the property market works more generally, so as to make property ownership even more secure for all home and commercial property owners.

You will be responsible for devising HMLR’s counter-fraud strategy and working across the organisation to ensure it is implemented effectively as well as being responsible for counter-fraud intelligence gathering, investigations and casework interventions.  You will provide expert advice to the Executive Board and other senior leaders across the organisation and will represent HM Land Registry as part of the wider government counter fraud profession.

You will have a relevant qualification or significant recent experience in managing counter fraud and/or a relevant area (ie, fraud investigation and intelligence, counter-fraud strategy and policy, fraud risk assessment and measurement) at a senior level. You will have the ability to think strategically and to undertake complex problem solving, reaching sound, logical conclusions, and recommendations.  You can demonstrate experience of drawing on best practice to drive continuous improvement and be able to demonstrate even handedness, impartiality and fairness when dealing with contested cases.

This role has a minimum assignment duration of 3 years. An assignment duration is the period of time a Senior Civil Servant is expected to remain in the same post to enable them to deliver on the agreed key business outcomes. The assignment duration also supports your career through building your depth of expertise.

As part of accepting this role you will be agreeing to the expected assignment duration set out above. This will not result in a contractual change to your terms and conditions. It will depend on your personal circumstances at a particular time and business needs, for example, would not preclude any absence like family friendly leave.
