We’re now looking for a Finance Business Partner to join us and support healthy and responsible finances across the Commission.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be tasked with a range of management accounting activities that primarily focus upon preparing monthly cost centre budgets and forecasts that reflect and anticipate operating activities.

Contributing to a consolidated organisational budget and forecast, you will support and challenge senior operational management, helping them to test and vary assumptions and building their understanding of finance.

A key focus will be reporting and so the ability to accurately describe what is happening operationally through financial analysis will be vital.

Additionally, you will: 

  • Act as the lead advisor for Senior Managers regarding finance
  • Assist with the integration of Excel with Great Plains
  • Discover new uses for the integration that contribute towards accuracy and efficiency
  • Help our organisation to become more efficient and save costs
  • Support your team in the production of the monthly finance reports
  • Produce reports for the Board, various committees and the Executive Group 

To be considered, you will need: 

  • To be a qualified accountant
  • Experience of providing business partnering support within a complex organisation
  • Experience of preparing management accounts and management reports to deadlines
  • To be an advanced level Excel user

The ideal Finance Business Partner will also have public sector experience, particularly in a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB), however this is not essential. Working knowledge of Great Plains accounting systems would also be beneficial to your application. Experience of Procurement and Credit Control would be equally advantageous.
