Job Description
The University of Sheffield's AMRC Castings Group specialises in developing the castings industry, in a wide variety of alloys using sand, investment and permanent mould technologies. The AMRC’s Castings team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join as a Finishing Operative.
The Finishing Operative will work closely under the direction of the Finishing Engineer and will be involved in all aspects processing components within the Castings group. To be a successful Finishing Operative, you must have the skills and motivation to perform disciplines in compliance with recognised standards.
Responsibility includes preparing equipment and processes before the task to ensure safe systems of work and demonstrate Quality and H&S compliance. You must have a good background in foundry finishing practices.
You will work with senior team members and potentially customers to understand and deliver the requirements of activities and projects.
As part of the AMRC Castings team, you will be involved in the operational and administrative processes such as, purchasing, quality system maintenance, and record keeping.
