Job Description

Job summary

NAHT is looking for Governance Officer & Executive Officer to work within our Democracy and Governance team, if you would like the opportunity to work with the NAHT and help influence the future of our education system, this vacancy may be of interest to you.

Reporting to the Director of Democracy & Governance the aim of the role is to strengthen, grow and develop the democratic foundation of the Association by facilitating the work of National Executive and Committee Members, NAHT members by ensuring the Association’s governance processes work well.

This role will support the Data Protection Officer in the discharge of their duties in particular being responsible for complying with data requests, thereby, ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

Person specification

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a flexible approach to work. You will have a good working knowledge and understanding of Trade Union regulations and how they relate to governance, along with an interest in education.

You will need an eye for detail and be interested in data quality and analysis, along with an awareness of data protection and an understanding of how to manage confidential information.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish credibility with members of NAHT, staff and other trade unions supported by good attention to detail are also essential skills for this role.
