Our Faculty of Business and Law has a global reputation for delivering some of the best business management education in the UK, and we are tremendously excited to have the opportunity to build on our national and international capabilities with the appointment of two Heads of Department to lead inclusively, and with a commitment to our vision and values.
Heads of Department form a key part of our senior leadership team. This is an exciting and transformative leadership opportunity, where you will be given strategic responsibility as a member of the Faculty Executive team to shape our offer and make a real difference to our research and education mission. You will be joining a growing and rapidly changing Faculty of Business and Law at a university which is reshaping the higher education landscape to make a lasting difference to the lives of our staff and students.
Our Business School made the fifth largest submission to REF2021 by headcount and 9th in the UK by research power. By 2023, Northumbria will be in the UK’s top quartile for research, and as a senior member of the Faculty Executive you will help to embolden our research capabilities at scale, whilst also helping to drive change and support staff and students in the exciting and transformative journey that we are undergoing.
You will be responsible for delivering University’s Vision, Strategy and supporting plans. This will include delivery of the Newcastle Business School’s “Force for Good” strategy and your leadership will help build on the many successes of the business school by nurturing even greater research intensity and driving an excellent experience for all our students.
A proven Academic leader, you will provide strategic, disciplinary, and wider leadership and vision for your department and play a vital role in delivering transformational change by enabling empowered people to do their best work in a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
If you demonstrate a commitment to our vision and values, and can evidence the requisite academic, research, education, and exceptional leadership qualities relevant to the Head of Department role to which we are seeking to appoint, then we would be very interested to receive your application and would encourage you to contact our executive search advisers, Alumni Global, for a confidential discussion.
