Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ‘Learning & Development Services Manager’ role within the Learning & Development Team at Northumbria Healthcare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision and management of efficient and effective learning and development services. Their portfolio will include the management of ‘Technology Enhanced Learning’, ‘Work Experience’ and ‘Statutory and Mandatory Training’.
They will provide detailed reports and papers at board level. Plus they will contribute and respond to Trust and business unit needs by providing effective business partnering and learning and development support.
The role will have leadership and management responsibilities within the Learning & Development Team and will support the wider HR & OD agenda.

The successful candidate will also have access to a range of development opportunities, to enhance their learning and grow within the role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to Masters level within a relevant subject or with an equivalent portfolio acquired through training and experience.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of Learning and Development and associated policies and procedures gained via substantial
  • previous experience of working in an Learning and Development environment within the NHS.
  • A sound knowledge of staff management techniques in order to manage own staff and be able to advise managers to address their own
  • staff development issues through learning
