Job Description

The University of Sheffield is creating a new Safeguarding and Welfare team, launching spring 2024. The team has responsibility for Safeguarding, Prevent, management of the Report and Support system, oversight of Sexual Violence and Misconduct cases and procedures, leadership of the Risk Assessment Panel procedure and responding to critical incidents.

The Safeguarding and Welfare Officers will play an important role in the delivery of key services in the team as directed. This will include supporting both Safeguarding and Welfare Managers and the Section Lead: Safeguarding and Welfare in the delivery of their remits of managing processes within the team. The post-holders will also support the team Administrator as required in triaging cases and information received into the team and liaising with students and staff as required to signpost key services and processes. The post-holders will also help manage safeguarding cases, provide support for Risk Assessment panel meetings, and manage a caseload of student welfare cases.
