Cheshire Constabulary Fleet Services are responsible for quite literally keeping the force moving on a daily basis with its fleet of nearly 900 vehicles everything from cars and vans to motorbikes cycles and boats clocking up 12 million miles a year.
A team of highly skilled and enthusiastic individuals keeps this fleet of vehicles on the road and you can also see the team in action on the Dave TV programme “Cop Car Workshop”.
Working out of Cheshire Constabulary Headquarters in Winsford, we are looking for a Technician who can work in the field, dealing with vehicle breakdowns all over the force, carrying out repairs on site at Police Stations and where necessary, recovering the vehicles for repair.
We are looking for someone with a full UK Driving license including Category C+E. You will also need to be a qualified vehicle technician up to at least City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Repair.
The ideal candidate will be willing to work outside in all weathers and have a “can do” attitude and good customer service skills. The role is focussed on repairing vehicles at our various sites around the force to maintain a high level of vehicle availability to support front line Policing.
You may also be required to recover vehicles to and from various locations so will need to have experience of recovering vehicles using rigid, tilt /slide beds and spec lifts.
