Security Operations Manager

Job Description

As Security Operations Manager you will be responsible for the operational management of all
Security Services staff and equipment at the University of Sheffield. In conjunction with the Head of Security, you will have responsibility for the development and implementation of Security Policies and for liaising with internal departments and external partners on security issues.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring systems are in place to monitor security standards and instigate improvements to systems and working methods as appropriate.

There will be a requirement to conduct high level threat and risk assessments relating to the safety and security of students, staff and visitors at the University, and play an active role in the University’s Major Incident response.

You will represent the service at strategic and tactical meetings such as the Risk Assessment Panel, associated discipline investigatory panels and welfare groups, providing advice, guidance, and instruction on legal and regulatory matters.

Deputisation for the Head of Security will be required where needed.
