Friday, July 19, 2024

BT Group has announced an ambitious new family leave policy, set to commence on 1 January 2025, aimed at supporting its diverse workforce and enhancing inclusivity. The policy offers 18 weeks of full pay, followed by 8 weeks of half pay, and up to 26 weeks at the statutory rate. This initiative is designed to accommodate all employees, irrespective of family structure, reflecting BT Group’s commitment to employee well-being.

Clare Barclay, CEO of BT Group, emphasised, "This new family leave policy reflects our commitment to supporting our employees in every aspect of their lives. By providing comprehensive family leave benefits, we aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported."

The policy is part of BT Group’s broader strategy to foster workplace inclusivity, which includes recent introductions of carers' leave and enhanced health support programmes. These efforts aim to help employees manage both their professional and personal responsibilities more effectively.

The new family leave policy is expected to boost employee morale and productivity, encouraging other companies in the industry to review and improve their own family leave policies.
