The Old Vic

Description

The Old Vic is one of London’s most iconic theatres, located on The Cut in SE1. With a history spanning over 200 years, the theatre is known for producing world-class work while remaining deeply connected to its local community and audiences across the UK and beyond. Alongside its artistic programme, The Old Vic runs a busy programme of commercial events and venue hire, which plays an important role in supporting its creative, education and community work.

Working at The Old Vic
The Old Vic is committed to being a welcoming, inclusive and supportive place to work. We believe that great work is made by people with different perspectives, lived experiences and ways of thinking. Our teams work across a wide range of disciplines — from theatre-making and production to commercial events, operations, marketing and business support — and we value collaboration, respect and openness at every level of the organisation.

We recognise that people follow many different career paths, and we welcome applicants with non-linear journeys, transferable skills or experience gained in other sectors. We are committed to supporting learning and development and aim to create an environment where people can grow, contribute and feel valued.

Inclusive recruitment
We actively support and encourage applications from people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We are particularly keen to receive applications from People of the Global Majority, LGBTQ+ candidates, disabled and neurodivergent people, and those from under-represented groups.

If you are interested in a role but feel you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value potential, transferable skills and lived experience alongside formal qualifications and direct experience.

Where candidates are equally qualified, we may take positive action to improve representation within our workforce. We do not ask applicants to disclose previous convictions at application stage, in line with Fair Chance Recruitment Principles. We are a PiPA Charter Partner, working towards a more family-friendly workplace in the performing arts, and a signatory of the Care Leaver Covenant, supporting care leavers aged 16–25 into employment and independent living.
