Lecturer in Work and Employment

Job Description

Are you interested in working for a top-ranked, triple-crown accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) Management School? With world-class facilities, ground-breaking research and cutting-edge thinking, we are seeking applications from ambitious, highly motivated and talented individuals who will be keen to play an active role in further enhancing the Management School’s international reputation for excellence in research, teaching and innovation that has positive societal impact

We have an opportunity for a Lecturer in Work and Employment to join our vibrant group of academics engaged in research, knowledge exchange and research impact in the Centre for Decent Work (CDW). We are particularly looking for individuals who can contribute to the ongoing strategic development of the Centre’s research aims.

The research and impact agenda of CDW is concerned with contemporary developments in labour markets and the workplace. Much of the research undertaken by CDW takes a political economy perspective, examining how work and employment are affected by the interplay of changes in the social and economic policies of governments, national and international regulations and institutions, the strategies adopted by employers and trade unions, and shifts in the international division of labour. CDW’s research and impact agenda is organised around four priority themes: employment & job quality; equality, inclusion and voice; labour in the global economy; and the regulation and governance of work. Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their potential to contribute strongly to at least one of these priority themes in relation to research outputs, research funding generation and knowledge exchange/impact generation. Further information about CDW is available at: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/cdw.

The successful applicant will also join the School’s Work, Employment and Organisations Subject Group which delivers a range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes and modules, including our two MSc programmes in Human Resource Management, one of which is CIPD-accredited
