Postgraduate Assistant in Games Design

Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic high quality graduate who can support teaching in BSc Computer Games Design starting September/October 2017. The successful candidate will support lecturing staff during interactive lecture sessions and in hands-on practical laboratory sessions on a range of undergraduate modules. The initial focus of the work will depend on skills and experience, but additional training will be offered to enable broader skills. Applicants with knowledge of some of the following: Autodesk 3DS Max, Adobe CC, Unity and Unreal will have an advantage.

In addition to teaching support duties, the successful candidate will be required to register for an MPhil/PhD to support the research activities within the School in areas including (but not be limited to): Games Design, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Procedural Generation, Innovative Level Design, Games Technology and User Experience in Games. The appointed candidate will also be required to take the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, which will enable a career progression to Lecturing at University or College.

Applicants must have a degree (2:1 or above), or equivalent, in the cognate area and have excellent communication skills, as well as demonstrable success when working in a team environment.
