An exciting opportunity exists to join the central Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating (DAFNE) team as a Finance and Administration Assistant.
The main duties of this role include the daily update and management of the departmental operational budget spreadsheet to ensure accurate expenditure and income is being processed. This will also involve investigating any queries and variances.
The role also involves arranging the DAFNE Executive Board meetings which includes organising the venue, sending meeting invites, circulating the agenda, supporting information and minutes, as well as monitoring and chasing progress of actions with Board members.
The post holder will be required to book travel, accommodation and venues for training programmes and meetings throughout the year, sourcing and selecting the most appropriate option within the operational budget.
We are looking for applicants who are proactive and self motivated with a confident approach, particularly to finance related tasks. The successful applicant must possess excellent organisation skills, accurate data entry skills and the ability to maintain high quality in their own area of work.
The post holder will based at North Tyneside General Hospital. There will be an occasional requirement (one or twice per year) to travel nationally to attend meetings and conferences.
- NVQ III / AAT intermediate level or equivalent experience
- GCSE English language and maths or equivalent experience
- Be familiar with computerised financial ledgers
- Experience of entering accurate and timely data onto electronic systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including word, outlook and excel
