Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences

Salary: £34,189 to £48,677 per annum – Grade7/8


The School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking anindividual with experience in Physiology/Pharmacology for the position ofLecturer in Biomedical Science.  TheSchool sits within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, promoting core valuesof excellent clinical education, strong social engagement and world-class research.  Our Biomedical Science programme is closelyaligned with the needs of the NHS, research laboratories and industry,providing exceptional student learning opportunities to prepare students for ameaningful and fulfilling career.  Ourgraduates from last year are pursuing worthwhile careers across the UK, usingand building on the skills they developed in Plymouth.


Applications arewelcomed from individuals with a PhD in biomedical science disciplines who aremotivated towards a successful career in teaching and educational scholarship.  Applications are particularly welcome fromapplicants with expertise within physiology / pharmacology.  We are looking for early stage careerapplications and the School will support you to gain a recognised HE teachingqualification if you do not already hold one. Youwill actively contribute to aspects of a universityacademic position, including teaching, curriculum development, academicmanagement and research within the School. Although this is a teaching-focussed academic appointment and you will spendthe majority of your time (80%) on teaching and curriculum-related roles, theexpectation is that you will have a strong research background and will have an opportunity to pursue your research interests.
