Senior Lecturer / Professor in Respiratory Medicine

Job Description

You will be a clinical academic in Respiratory Medicine, who will make a critical contribution to shaping clinical and translational research in the Division of Clinical Medicine within the School of Medicine & Population Health at the University of Sheffield. The role will encompass research, teaching and leadership in the field of Respiratory Medicine, particularly respiratory infection. Important facets of the portfolio include the ability to nurture and support researchers across all career stages, and fostering translational research and links to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. You should be prepared to provide support to academic leadership in the School of Medicine and Population Health and the Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre. There will be opportunities to interact with a broad range of scientists and clinicians working on infection, through the Florey Institute for Host Pathogen Interaction.

You will be an honorary consultant within the Respiratory Medicine service within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Respiratory service provides local and tertiary care services, including Asthma, COPD, ventilation, pleural disease, interstitial lung disease and clinical infection in bronchiectasis, TB, immunodeficiency etc.
