A rare opportunity has arisen for a musculoskeletal specialist to join the Therapies team within Barts Health Trust. The post holder will be a qualified Physiotherapist, with at least 2 years experience within the physiotherapy specialty. They should be registered with the HPC, have completed at least two specialist musculoskeletal rotations, which would ideally include an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. They should have excellent baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and have experience of treating a variety of peripheral and spinal patients. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit will be desirable.
The post holder will join the Barts Health Band 6 musculoskeletal rotations based at The Royal London Hospital and Mile End Hospital. They will have the opportunity to be involved in many exciting projects for example, Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Specialist clinics. They will have supervisory responsibility for a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching and clinical support with managing demanding caseloads. They will also have roles linked to the Band 7 line managers that will facilitate their managerial and leadership qualities, for example GP liaison, education and Musculoskeletal Audit champion. We have an excellent in-service training program that runs on a two year rolling format, covering each individual joint and integrating evidence, theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical implementation. We also run a fantastic variety of external courses for which we have a number of free places allocated. The MSK Therapies team also has a strong Band 8 strategic and clinical leadership team, who support the MSK physiotherapy team to deliver the best possible patient care.
